Using Video to share Positive Messages Online.

CG5 LOGO1.png

Charlie Green (CG5) is a young internet sensation that is famous for his work creating music about pop culture, memes, and video games.

But Charlie had a desire to speak about his childhood experience with Autism Therapy. As a young child, he had serious communication problems, some of which continue to affect his life as an adult. Charlie wanted to be a positive voice for those that face similar problems, but he needed someone to help tell such an emotional story to an audience that usually expects memes and levity.

What got the party started:

I featured Charlie on my small YouTube Channel, diving in to his backstory and having him help me with a small branding project. (130k Views, 12k Likes) Charlie was so impressed with the result that he hired me to help set the stage for a series of charity events he was headlining.

Communicating CG5's experience with Autism Therapy to the world.

What started as a fun collaboration between our two channels, turned into a full campaign helping Charlie communicate his experience with Autism Therapy to the world.

The Charity Event & Social Communication

While the song was going to be the star of the show, the story is what was required to give weight to Charlie's experience with Autism Therapy. This is a short behind the scenes cut that was shown on stage before Charlie would get on stage and open for the band Train. (As in "Drops of Jupiter" Train, if you've been in a grocery store sometime in the last decade you've probably heard their work.)

The Freak Out Music Video

An old antique mall let us stop by after hours to pump out a quick in-person music video to match his song before launching the campaign.

Previous to this video, Charlie had never broken 400,000 views showing his face in music videos. But with the force of the whole campaign behind him and an extra catchy melody, we managed to grab 1.4M views and a massive amount of positive feedback from teenagers that had similar experiences with Autism.
